OPT-IN, OPT-OUT:
What's it all about?
Effective August 15, 2010, a new regulation will require members to either
opt-in or opt-out of overdraft protection on ATM withdrawals &
one-time debit card purchases. Choosing to opt-in allows the credit union
to authorize & pay a transaction on an account with insufficient or
unavailable funds. If you choose to opt-out, transactions exceeding the
available balance will be denied. Should a transaction be approved and
there are insufficient funds when that transaction settles, your debit
card &/or checking account may be closed for possible misuse.
